I've heard that the regular Delso 10SI works, but is tight. You can also use an alternator from any small import car. An old Toyota alternator works fine. Don't worry about the alternator capacity - even an old 37 amp alternator will give you plenty - twice the power out of a 6 volt generator. As for brackets, you can usually use the same lower bracket by simply using all-thread and spacers. The upper bracket is not a big problem. Find a piece of 3/16 inch by 3/4 inch steel and bend it as you need to. You will need to add a ballast resistor in series with your coil. An inexpensive MOPAR resistor works. If you want to installation to be cleaner, you can buy a real 12 volt coil. Be sure to get one that specifies "no resistor needed". Good luck.
