We had a JD disk like that - called them a disk tiller. Ours was a 4 foot cut, had 5 blades, and blades were about 18 inches in dia. Wheels were cast, and two (furrow and rear) were so heavy they were constructed in pieces and bolted together. Whan you pushed the hydraulic lever, that thing was goin' down! Was all our JD B wanted to pull, but made short work of even the toughest sod. The second trip across the field, crossways of the first was always an adventure, with the tractor wheels constantly rolling over the furrows of sod. Sorry my dad sold it - sure would like to have it now!
