Were these all cracked through the seats? When it gets hot those cracks may tend to close up. I've seen seats come loose but I don't think on an M or H.

I guess it scares me a little, all those good heads getting scrapped by people who don't know any better will result in a shortage in a few years.

I'll repeat again what I said a few weeks ago, if you magnafluxed a new H in 1944 you might have found cracks BEFORE it was ever even started! Little stress cracks are nothing to reject a head over.
