You can't make that kind of comparison unless both tractors are in the same mechanical condition. These tractors are both about 50 years old, and have led completely different lives. It sure as heck sounds like your friend's SMTA has had some work done to it, while your 450 is a little tired and in need of some maintenance.

Up till then, this tractor had been running a corn grinder and pulling a trailer. It had new unfilled rear tires and no wheel weights.
