Lou, I have a 56 with several different sets of plates. Its hard to give you an answer without seeing the seed. We often take seeds and match them to the plate which accomodates the seed and gives us the right count..play with it till you get it right, you may have to get a few sets of plates(plastic) and then you'll find the right one, I don't think a set of plates is very much, you may end up owning several depending on what crops you are sowing, there were 8 sets of plates in my planter when I bought it...Mike in Exeter Ontario
