To engage the TA, you pull the TA lever back. To go back to direct drive, you push the TA lever ahead. It's pretty simple. Just don't pull the TA going downhill and expect it to slow you down, unless you want to destroy the tractor and splatter yourself all over whatever's waiting at the bottom of the hill. It's a mechanical TA with a one-way sprag clutch
