The first 4 gears seem very close together to most I would assume. Per the manual speeds are as follows for each gear: MPH forward 2-5/8, 3-1/2, 4-1/4, 5-1/8, 16-1/4 and 3-1/8 reverse. The hydraulic oil and transmission oil are 2 different things as you might have gathered from Nebraska Cowman's post. You can get a decent manual and service manual for about $20 or so online, if you plan on doing much work on it yourself it will be well worth it. Make sure you lube all the grease fittings.
