Cowman, If we could see how many bull gears were chipped in the tractors we use every day, We would probably be afraid to use them.I would be very skeptical about welding on a gear,If it is'nt reground perfect it will probably break just below the weld,and you will have a pretty good size chunck traveling in your rear end.
