JA The pump drive gear is held in place by a bumper spring in the end of the injection drive shaft, with the pump off I think one could get the teeth to jump timeing and if that is the case I would think you would have to pull the timeing cover to see the timeing marks. You can turn the motor over until the marks line up on the crank, cam, idle gear and them time the pump gear. Don't see any other way.
