David you didn't mention if this is a recent problem or not. Start at the fuel tank and make sure there isn't crud in the bottom of it. Then check the fuel strainer screen. The the screen in the carburetor where the fuel line connects. On the high speed mixture screw, turn it clockwise until closed, then open it up 2 1/2 turns. If these steps don't help any, then a rebuild of the carburetor is probably needed.
