Haveing the same problem with a 300U and had that problem on a 450, I ended up useing an alternator from a toyota pickup and it worked well going to do the smae on the 300U. Price at O'reallys is $85 for a life time warranty one and its small and will fit under the hood. Try one for say a 1989 toy
