My 42 H leaked most of the time I have owned it, since 1956. Finally about ten or so years ago I wasn't needing immediatly and I happend to realize that no matter what I did I couldn't get the tang on the float square on the needle, until I noticed that I could take the float hanger off and put a different thickness shim under the hanger. It worked, no more leaking and of course I imagined that it has always ran better since.
I tried all the fixes that were sold through the years that didn't work, so I was really put out that it took me so long to see my problem, Keep looking you will find yours in time.
