The way this country is based,is on free market.Retailers can basically charge whatever they want (make $1.00 or make $100),however you get into "Dumping" charges when you sell at/below cost in order to harm other retailers.Wal Mart has thousands of stores,yet they charge different prices in different areas.Its the regional market conditions and what the "market will bear".Dealers can discount,if they feel like it.What happens when a tractor repair shop buys genuine CASE/IH parts from a genuine dealer? They get a discount.They dont pay list price.YOU pay list price when you get the bill from that repair shop(or whatever they decide to charge...remember,its a free market society),and the difference between the two prices is their profit above and beyond the labor they charge. Isnt free market a wonderful system?
