Thanks for the info. I have the engine pulled
off the tractor. The crank pulley is not
something I want to tackle (I was going to let
the machine shop tackle that for me. I read on
the archives that I could take off the crankshaft
without removing the pulley if I left the cover
plate on. Now, I have never pulled a
crankshaft before, but I assume that i have to
be able to move it either forward or backward
to get it to drop out? If that's the case, I can't
because the rods are still locked onto it (even
without the caps). If the crankshaft can be
dropped straight down, what do I do to remove
it? I have the IH Shop manual, but so far it
hasn't been particularly helpful... Thanks for
the help!
