First, pull the wire from the coil to the distributor from the distributor and hold it close to a good ground to check to see if you have a nice fat blue spark that will jump about 7/16 of an inch or so. If you do, put the wire back in the distributor and pull a spark plug. Ground the plug and see if you have good spark across the plug electrodes. If not, replace the rotor, maybe the cap too. If you do then I�d check the ignition timing to make sure it is set correctly. If you still haven�t found it, is there a fuel overloading issue?

If you have spark and the fuel mixture is correct, next I�d take a compression test and see if the cylinders have 85 psi or more and are within 10% of each other. If not, put a little bit of oil in the cylinders and try it again. If it comes up, you have worn rings, if not you have leaky valves.
