Getting hood off a 400

helping a neighbor fix his exhaust leak, hood is in 3 sections with air cleaner tube with big cyclone top sticking up thru piece I need to remove got the exhaust side cowl loose but cannot figure out how to get air cleaner cyclone tube top off without removing huge amount of air cleaner and plumbing
