I agree with Mike and Dale comments. If you have the right sleeves and seals you need to clean that area in the block where the seals are installed and the recessed area at the top of block where your sleeves fit. Very important! Use that dish detergent on the bottom edge of the sleeves and put some on the seal then install your sleeves. They should slide in by hand. Cover the seals with water and let sit overnight and check for leaks. After you install a piston make a little holddown bracket to keep the sleeve from popping out when rotating the engine and attaching connecting rods. Put one on each sleeve until you are ready to install the head. They do not need to be fancy. Hal
