If the block isn't junk, it's worth buying a crankshaft. You'll need to do some major work to get a 300 or 400 series engine to fit like "Repower" said below. You'd have to go to 66 series frame rails, meaning that you would need to make adapter plates to make your front bolster fit. Then there's a million other small things to change. The 715 combine's 310 basically will not work without spending big money to get the tractor flywheel onto the crankshaft. A 361 or 407 out of a tractor would be about the easiest non-German replacement, but there again, $$$$.
