Today, after running the tractor a bit more, I had milky hydraulic
fluid dripping out of a hole more or less under the TA. I
obviously need to change the hydraulic fluid, but I must have a
seal out in the tranny. Since there is no speed difference direct/
TA, my guess is that this oil is causing the TA clutch to slip.

So, looks like I am going to split the tractor this week and fix it.
