As several have said, liquid draino is lye, also known as caustic. Caustic will destroy aluminum. We got some on an aluminum ladder at work and it was gone in no time. There is a product out there that we use at work to clean deposits out of certain types of equipment, including carbon steel equipment. It is called Ridlyme. It is an acid, but contains stabilizers to inhibit corrosion. They have a web site, but I am not smart enough to attach a link to it. A mechanic I work with has used some in a 5610 Ford and he claimed to have success. Before I put anything in my tractors I would consult the maker of the product.
