1086 Digital Tach, MPH, PTO Intermittent

The combination digital tachometer, groundspeed, 540 and 1000 PTO guage is intermittent. The numbers light up (all zero's) when the key is on and engine is running, but will not display rpm, etc. The next time we use the tractor everything works fine. The wire to both transducers have continuity and the transducers have been adjusted according to the service manual. The hour meter works at all times - even when the tachometer doesn't. Any suggetions? Tom
