I don't really know since I'm not old enough to have lived through it, but I do know a bit about that time period. It's a bit hard to believe. I'm not sure about Canada, but the US didn't enter the war until Dec. '41. The country was producing war materials, at least in part to help support our allies. However, '38 is a bit early for things to be disrupted by the war. The A didn't even hit production until '39 and the C not until, what, '47 ? There are a lot of things I don't know though, so who knows? I guess stranger things have happened. Paul
