MagMan, I do have an H-4 that I picked up somewhere, maybe an auction. I do understand the concept of moving a coil past a permanent magnet, so no external power. However, can I bench test it to see if it's worth putting on? That may be a can of worms type question. I have taken it apart ( awhile back) and cleaned it up and probably checked points, etc., but I don't think i checked the coil or condenser or anything else. Should I have the wife hold one of the spark plug wires while I trip the impulse? I have the mag rebuilding book which has a chapter on the H-4. I suppose I should go through it with the book. Any thoughts on what to look for? Paul
