M head gasket

What are anyone's thoughts on putting sealer on the head gasket? I am putting the engine back together. In the past I have put on head gaskets with no sealer, or just sprayed the block and head with aluminum paint. I noticed that the "rebuild video" I got advises to use a copper spray on the gasket. Any recommendations from the experts??????
