Okay, I have replaced my temperature gauge and sure enough the M is running cold. (The gauge doesn't make it to the "Run" range. Sounds like the thermostat is stuck open which sounds like a common thing on these old tractors. In a car I always replaced a thermostat so the heater would work but didn't know it was bad to run an engine cold. From some of the replies I got on my temperature gauge post it sounds like replacing the thermostat is important to keep the tractor running well. So... Just order a thermostat from my local Case/IH dealer and get the gasket with it? Any other tips or tricks? I read something about using regular grease from a grease gun to seat the gasket? Thanks! Nathan
