She roared to life today under her own power. Thanks for all the replys I got from everyone. I found a couple of different problems that where giving me trouble. The old cables where very bad. Have 0 gauge flex welding wire now with heat shrink over the ends to keep out moisture. When tractor was repainted last they didn't mask off the connection on the starter or the switch or for that matter even the ground was paint covered.Got those areas all shiney clean now. When I put it all together....nothing. I new it couldn't be the battery cause I just bought it last week. You guessed it. I couldn't even get a spark out of the batt. with a screwdriver. Put it on the charger for 3 hours, that's as long as I could wait.I wonder how long a 6v battery sits on the self before it gets a home? Now it's zoom zoom zoom. I'm loving it. It started on about 1 revolution. Next Saturday I will be on here asking Bob M and the rest of you guys about diagnosing the generator and charging system. My other 2 tractors have alternators so this is all new to me.
