SC hydraulic reservoir fill plug thd ?

Changed the hydraulic oil on my '53 Super C and it looks like the fill plug should not be a pipe plug. The thread in the reservoir looks much finer. Does anyone know what thread should be on the plug (359 875 R1)?

Also, the pick up screen was not soldered all the way around the funnel shaped end. It was loose at the top. Are they all like that ?
