Dixieland: You've hit the nail on the head, although for a lot of them I think they have long since run out of money. It will just take until they run out of credit.

Public could take control of this situation, just do about 20-30% less driving. I suppose they could sell the house and live in car, suv or mini-van. A lot of folks are never home, so I assume they are expermenting with this. Then they could turn a lot of dollars into gas dollars.
