When I was younger, we had both a diesel and a gas 560 on the farm. Pulling heavy loads (plowing) the diesel would burn about the same amount of fuel, but pull the plow faster since the gasser had the heavy tillage 3rd gear in it and the diesel didn’t. On lighter loads like shelling corn the diesel would use about ˝ the fuel the gasser would use. When it came time to dump one, the gasser went down the road…
