Yes we use the 10si Delco and I believe the other [posts are correct on the late 1970s to early 80s GM cars and pickups. At first it looks like there will be no room to fit it in there and it does nearly touch the tappet cover and also the hood but there is just enough room. In fact you have to put the belt on then the bolts. The top bracket will have to be modified and bent. When we go top the salvage yard we try to find a bracket for the top that has the right bend and use that. The 10si is a very simple alternator to work on and easy to get parts for and very reasonable. We generally by several at once and then get them for the core charge which is $5 to $10 each. These are not checked for that price otherwise they run $35 for a used one up to whatever the parts house feels comfortable charging.
