M oil pump ??

I am working on an early M 25xxx, and have a parts tractor 34xxx, the oil pumps are pretty much the same except for the pressure regulating valve, on the running tractor the pump had a valve with part of the valve turned down smaller, on the parts tractor the valve had a set of 4 holes drilled around the top edge, which looks like it would let a small amount of oil pass through at all times, I realize oil pumps are easily changed out, but was just wondering if anyone could recommend which one to use, the tractor will be used in the field and pulled with a little. thanks Jon
