From what I read you are getting good advice, so far. As you know getting the fuel to the combustion chambers is what you got to have and with the thing you have been told before me , one of them should work. I would trace the flow of fuel from tank to carb and then as far through the carb as possible, if you are getting fuel that far but not to the cylenders then you may need a simple rebuild of the carb, as the starter fluid is going through so the only thing left if for the fuel to no be getting through the carb or it is possible that the spark may not be hot enough for gas and works with starter fluid that is not likely but it can happen.
