Allen I was still working for IH dealer when the wedge locks came out. And the reason IH came with the wedga lock was that the clamp type just would not stand the big horse power. Some of the problem was the clamp on duals. I have read the post about this the last few days, I never saw much problem with the clamps. The thing to remember here on the clamps ( NO Lock Washers on the screws) screws must be grade 8's then the wrench that came with a 4 ft pipe they needed at least 400 FT Lbs of torque and you do not do one screw they the next, this is like a head needs to be even. On the wedge lock a little oil so the wedge can slid don't remember the torque on them.
