I pull my SM all over the place and have never had any trouble. In the past I had a F150 with a 4.6 V8, only 260 hp. There's 5 set's of weights on the rear of the SM. Nope, never any trouble. Think the key here is, do you're maintenance on you're trailer, grease the bearings, keep good rubber on it, and most importantly make sure you have trailer breaks on both axles. I do agree about chain's. Why do guys use straps? On my way to Tennesee one year we saw a classic vet, bout a 65' stuffed in the back of a Chevy pick-up on the highway, seems there was a big wreck and they just could not stop fast enought. And when they did the strap's could not take the strain. To bad, one less piece of history for every one to look at.
