I have seen IH tractors painted with PPG or even Dupont paints,they do very in color. I paint quite a few tractors the only paint I will use on IH is 2150 case IH paint because the color is what your looking for in your finished product. I also clearcoat all the tractors that I paint. I put an American Finishes acrylic base Reducer [PBS100] in the red paint that turns it into a basecoat so you can clearcoat it. The durability & shine will last longer than just paint.
I have a 1939 M and my brother has a early 560 diesel that are both painted this way and look very nice. Good luck to you
