Can't find anything in my letter series service manuals, they only mention the cutout relay. I do have a book by called Auto Engines and Electrical Systems. Simplified version is that the book says to turn the screw clockwise to increase spring tension and raise voltage and vice versa. I have a good inexpensive generator place, and take mine there, as everytime I try to get an old generator to work right, I mess it up.
