Can't find anything in my letter series service manuals, they only mention the cutout relay. I do have a book by called Auto Engines and Electrical Systems. Simplified version is that the book says to turn the screw clockwise to increase spring tension and raise voltage and vice versa. I'm not the one to be answering this, I was hoping someone else would. I have a good inexpensive generator place, and take mine there, as everytime I try to get an old generator to work right, I mess it up.
