I got my first IH a few years back, a SMTA that needed work. Purchased a Blue Ribbon service book which covered somme of the tractor, also an I&T manuel for other parts. I hav eparts book also which definitely helps when taking things apart of putting them together as well as how things should be in it. I&T manuel is quite generic but good if you have some mechanical skills, generally cheaper than the Blue Ribbon books. An operator's manuel is a must also.
