Combine and baler engines all had the notch in the bell housing on the right for the starter. Does this engine have only one bolt on the right side flywheel housing. If so it is a combine or baler or swather engine. otherwise it is probably a replacement block from IH. I suspect the latter as the combine engines were difficult to fit in due to the crank not being bored with a pilot bearing hole
