charlynn power steering pluming off live hyd. ques

hello, i plan to run charlynn p/s off the ih live pump on my super m..i an not running any hyd. inplements off the hyd. unit,ports are going to be pluged with pipe plugs,can i tie into the pressure and return hoses at the resivior and run without a diverter/safety valve? thanks all...
