CNKS,I had a power unit once that used H engine
48 or 49 model.It used fuel pump and dipstick.
Fuel pump mount is on side of block below carb.
Mount is not drilled on farmall H.But if its drilled a plate is bolted on block to cover hole
that goes across engine to camshaft.Rod is used in hole to work fuel pump if it is used.Think some
placement of power unit engines made it hard to get to petcocks was reason for dipstick.Not saying
all units used dipstick.Most replacement blocks are drilled for pump.All that i have saw are a later date code than his block though and no serial # was stamped on block.Always finding something i havent seen though.
