Just Gaged mine a week ago. Took off brace rod and Generator. Don't see a reason to take off steering rod,uhmm?? Here let me tell ya how. Standing on the side with the distributer, lift left side up off bolt.Get that left side past the Temperature gage wire. Now lift right side up while lifting left up also. Get right side past the Generater brace bolt and she"s out. Reason i know this so well, I"m havin a bit of trouble with mine and i"ve taken it off so many times. Glad to help. JOE
