El Toro has good suggestions. Other than those, you could have a "floating" piece of crud in the gas tank that lets partial fuel flow. Take a piece of wire and poke thru the outlet of the tank (from the top). You might have to drain the tank and remove the sediment bowl. Mine did that to me a couple of years ago, engine died 3 or 4 times after, but apparantly I finally got it all out. Also your main jet could be plugged -- I had your exact symptoms once, also-- cleaning the carb fixed it -- otherwise it is electrical as El Toro suggests.
