My 1930 Regular has the starting fuel tank (round cylinder behind the main tank), but the line to the fuel bowl has not been connected for years, from what I can tell. The manual tells me to use gasoline until the engine wams up, then make the switch at the fuel cock and use kerosene. The carb differs very little from the drawings in the operators manual, but how can I be sure if there were modifications made so it runs just on gas? The seller had it running for 5 minutes on gas when I bought it, to check for basic problems before I hauled it away. I know the oil depletes faster on gasoline, but is there any other harm to using only gasoline versus kerosene? I"l never run this tractor under load -- hobby only.
