Remember the sequence -- JD A/60/620/630. Farmall M/Super M/Super MTA/400/450. As to HP you need to compare "equivalent" models, along with the advantages and disadvantages of either. THAT will depend on the individuals bias, I am trying to give a middle of the road opinion, because both makes are good tractors. JD also had a 70/720/730, all of which, I believe, were larger than the M (don't mind being corrected). So, you need to compare apples to apples, etc. I refuse to put down either color, but they should be compared model to model.
