PTO speeds, 540vs1000

I should probably know this, but I dont. Most of the wheel tractors & alied equipment I've been around, have & use the 540 rpm PTO. I have seen some tractors with dual PTO's ( 540 & 1000 rpm) & my TD-5 has a 1000rpm PTO. What was driven off these 1000rpm PTO's??.
On this subject, The TD-5 could be had with an optional bolt on PTO reducer attachment (to give 540). My parts book doesn't list a # for the complete assembly( says order as a machine attachment) but the casing PT# is 636186R1.Does anyone know was this attachment available on any other IHC AG tractors & crossed over for use on these crawlers. I was thinking of maybe trying to hunt one down if the price was right.
