Think you could be refering to trans. input shaft.The area to rear of teeth were 4th and 5th
sliding gear lock to input shaft should not show
wear unless main or input shaft bearings are slopy.Bearing on front of main shaft is in ID of input shaft.Also check that bolt that holds yoke
on front of input shaft has'nt backed off.
