Farmalls in general had a push on gear knob. they were all the same on the letter series. They came off regularly and are of a nature to split and crack in half. gluing them on (gorilla glue and follow directions on bottle) will sure fix the loose problem, but it isn't the stock setup. New ones should be available from Case-IH for cheep.
