I believe all letter series seats were padded and covered with canvas. The original canvas was "probably" black or dark gray on a 41, silver on later models. I also have a 41 H, barely in running condition. When I bought it, someone had mounted the starter switch on the light bar (wrong). I currently have it mounted in front of the steerin post, but when I "restore" the tractor, it is going on the steering post opposite the amp box. That is the only location shown in my parts book. I do not know where it was on a 41 when new, there is some controversy on this. I do know that later models have it opposite the amp box.
