Actually the high drum pickers (that is what I have) got their gear reduction in bolt on drop boxes there were no internal changes. At least not on M and I assume SM. For a couple of years my Dad converted picker tractor to regular tractor after crop was picked and it ran in field with other Ms with no noticeable difference. Did not take him long to decide this was more trouble than it was worth.
