Not interchangeable, possibly backward compatible. ie: the C tank could be used on an A if you made up a new fuel line. The A tank couldn't be used on the C because the fuel outlet would interfere with the touch control assy.

The fuel outlet on the A tank is near the center of the tank, but when touch control was added to the Super A and the C, the new tanks had to move the fuel outlet forward to clear the rockshaft arms.
